Library Hours
The Library’s hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The library will be closed Monday, October 10th for Columbus Day and Indigenous People’s Day.

Friends of the Franklin Library
From the Friends… Will you be at the 19 th Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 1 st ? The Friends will be and we hope you’ll stop by our booth to say “Hello!” and pick out a FREE “new to you” book. We will be giving away children’s, teen, and adult books while supplies last! The Friends of the Franklin Library is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the Franklin Public Library’s collections and programs. Want to learn more about becoming a Friend and our exciting new 2022-2023 initiatives? Join us for our next monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 5th at 7:00pm in the FoFL Community Room. Move Along! Mondays @ 10:30AM
This thirty-minute program features music, movement, stories, and other interactive activities to encourage social skills and promote early literacy!
Dungeons and Dragons Club for Kids & Teens! Mondays, 4:00-6:00PM (7+)
Kids are invited to join us for a weekly Dungeons and Dragons Club! The library will supply dice, rule books, and blank character sheets! (Dungeon Masters must be ages 10 and up)

Cool Cruisers! Tuesdays @ 9:30AM
Babies who have graduated from tummy time and are scooting all over the place are welcome to this playgroup just for them! We recognize that fun age of exploring is very different from their first few months, so join us for a special playgroup just for this exciting time!
Get Ready for Kindergarten! Tuesdays @10:30AM (3–5)
This 45 minute program featuring stories, songs, activities, and crafts will help prepare your children for preschool and kindergarten. Parents and caregivers can attend with their child if they wish. No registration required!

Join us for 30 minutes of themed stories, songs, and movement followed by a craft! For children ages 3 and up that can attend on their own. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to watch from the adjoining room. No registration required!

Doggie Tales! Monday, October 3rd and October 17th @4:00 PM (1st grade +)

Welcome to Hyades School for Wizards and Witches! The Wands of Procyon have been stolen and we need your help to find them! Question the suspects and put your detective skills to the test! Secrets abound and not everyone is who they seem in this magical mystery! Ideal for ages 8+
Baby Sensory! Saturday, October 8th @9:30AM
Join us for a 45 minute baby sensory program! Watch your little one interact and engage with a variety of sensory items! Sensory play is a fantastic way to help babies explore their worlds, stimulate the senses, and create little inquisitive explorers! Babies under 2 are welcome and encouraged! (Got older siblings? They can bring along a stuffed toy or baby and play along!)

Kids and grownups join us! Have fun, make some moves and learn how to Bollywood dance with Deepa Bhaskar! Bollywood Dance is an expressive and eclectic dance form. It’s a fusion of Indian classical and folk dance with various other dances styles from all around the world!
Halloween Tricks and Treats with Robert Rivest, Comic Mime! Saturday October 8th @1:00PM
In this fun, interactive program, Comic Mime Robert Rivest will take us through a series of spooky yet silly Halloween stories. We will also learn how to do some mime tricks and treat our friends to funny mime illusions and hilarious Halloween characters. Come in costume, Robert will use his mastery of mime and movement to help us move and act like our costume characters. Also bring some ideas and suggestions, as we will create our own spooky story together, on the spot!
Kid’s Paint Party! Saturday, October 15th @ 1:00PM
FOR KIDS AGES 5-11! REGISTRATION REQUIRED!! Join local instructor Denise Palmieri for this step-by-step paint party specifically for kids! All materials will be provided and you'll get to take home your very own owl-y masterpiece! The same painting will be taught at all 3 dates - please only register for 1 date.

Trunk or Treat! Saturday October 22nd, 10:30AM-12:30PM
Families! Dress up and join us in the library parking lot for a safe, little-kid friendly afternoon of trick-or-treating in the daylight! The parking lot will be full of decorated trunks and activities!! In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors!

Join us each month for Teen Advisory Board! The Teen Advisory Board is a GREAT opportunity to get involved here at the library! You'll help plan events and programs, create displays and decorate the teen space, and help drive decisions around the kinds of materials we bring to the YA collection, from books and beyond, all while eating snacks and getting volunteer hours! It's a win-win-win!
VolunTeens! 2nd & 4th Thursday of the Month, 6:30-7:30PM (14+)
An elite volunteering program for dedicated library volunteers, this program is designed to facilitate unique volunteer opportunities for committed teens to work on special library projects. You will learn all about event planning and execution, hone your creative and crafty skills, and build your resume!

The Franklin Garden Club Presents: Gardening with Dahlia’s October 4th 7:00 PM
Someone once said that peonies are the “Show Girls” of the spring garden; with dahlias, it’s all about late summer-early fall “Royalty”! Following a brief history of the discovery of dahlias, you will learn how to select dahlia tubers, where to plant, how to water and fertilize. Tarot offers a mirror to the soul. The cards depict our emotional and spiritual landscape and provide insight into our innermost selves. After receiving a frantic letter from her newly-wed cousin begging for someone to save her from a mysterious doom, Noemi Taboada heads to High Place, a distant house in the Mexican countryside. She's not sure what she will find--her cousin's husband, a handsome Englishman, is a stranger, and Noemi knows little about the region. Noemi is also an unlikely rescuer: She's a glamorous debutante, and her chic gowns and perfect red lipstick are more suited for cocktail parties than amateur sleuthing. But she's also tough and smart, with an indomitable will, and she is not afraid: Not of her cousin's new husband, who is both menacing and alluring; not of his father, the ancient patriarch who seems to be fascinated by Noemi; and not even of the house itself, which begins to invade Noemi's dreams with visions of blood and doom. Her only ally in this inhospitable abode is the family's youngest son. Shy and gentle, he seems to want to help Noemi, but might also be hiding dark knowledge of his family's past. For there are many secrets behind the walls of High Place. The family's once colossal wealth and faded mining empire kept them from prying eyes, but as Noemi digs deeper she unearths stories of violence and madness.
