SENIOR TAX WORKOFF PROGRAM

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Welcome to the one stop webpage on the Town of Franklin's Senior Tax Workoff program. 

The Senior Tax Workoff program is a rewarding program where eligible seniors can have temporary jobs with the town or school government and obtain money off their property taxes. 

As of January 1, 2022, the Franklin Town Council approved an increase in the rate of pay to $14.25 an hour for 100 hours a year.  This will allow participating and eligible seniors to gain credit offset on their property taxes at a maximum benefit of $1,425 a year. This is the maximum allowed under the law. 

Eligible citizens must be of 60 years of age or older and a resident of Franklin.

Citizens can apply at any time through the year. However, once the Town reaches a cap of 100 positions, the program will stop and renew for the new calendar year. 

The Town is actively developing a list of available positions throughout the Town and will release those positions soon. Stay tuned to this website for a list of positions.
