Chilson Beach Rules
Chilson Beach will open for the season on Saturday, June ,18 2022 and will close for the season on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Restrooms will be open everyday and will be cleaned Monday through Friday for the duration of the summer season. Water testing will begin on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. All results will be posted as we receive them back from our lab. Water testing is administered by the Board of Health and samples are sent to R.I. Analytical Laboratories, Inc.. 2022 Update: There are no lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk. Every Tuesday morning throughout the summer, we are testing the water for E-coli, and the results are available below. Due to a 20 day delay in receiving our results, we have decided to change laboratories. We will now use RI Analytical Laboratories and results will be posted within 72 hours. If you have any questions regarding Chilson Beach, please do not hesitate to contact the Recreation Department at 508-613-1666.
First test result for 2022 will be posted on June 16, 2022.

On July 20th, the Town of Franklin changed to RI Analytical Laboratory in an effort to receive lab reports more timely.
*Results usually returned from the lab 2-5 days after sample date. If any test fails, we will post signs at the beach immediately.
Beaver Pond Facility Improvement Project
The Beaver Pond Facility Improvement project has begun! We are in the process of adding a grass practice field, a lacrosse rebound wall, and a brand new playground and a Challenger Course for older children. The Challenger course is designed for children and adults (ages 13+) and includes 11 challenges that are fun, exciting and designed to keep children active. The new Vendetti Playground installation was complete on June 1 with the entire project completion scheduled for Summer 2021.
