Franklin Community Garden

NEWS: The Franklin Recreation Department would like to announce the official opening of the gardens on Saturday, April 20, 2024 9-11AM.  Come out and prep the gardens for a successful season.  Virtual meeting was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.  Agenda and minutes are listed below.  square foot gardening session

Registration typically starts in early February 1 and runs through February 29.  We give all returning gardeners a chance to renew their garden bed.  Once we know who is returning to their garden bed from the previous season, we open the additional garden beds to those from the wait list.  If you are new to the Community Garden, make sure you get on the wait list on February 1st and you will be added in the order we receive your wait list request.

Franklin's very first community garden was completed in the spring of 2011 and every single bed was leased. A wait list became necessary.  King Street Memorial Community Garden is located at 740 King Street at King Street Memorial Park.  There are currently 62 raised beds, individually leased. Adding more gardens in more locations is currently on the agenda for the community garden committee.
