Instructions

• Keep track of the time you read OR are read to this summer on this reading log!
• Color in 1 circle for every 20 minutes of reading time!
• As you read, you will earn prizes for the different milestones you hit! You may collect your prizes at the library as you earn them or all at once at the end!
• Once all your circles are colored in, your log is complete! You will have read for 25 hours… Congratulations! You’re a summer reading Rockstar, and have earned a special prize pack!

WHY STOP THERE?

You are encouraged to complete more than one reading log! We have extra reading logs available on our website or at the library! There are no milestone prizes on these extra logs, but... at the end of the summer the 10 readers who have completed the most logs will win a special prize!

How it works

This year, we are giving you lots of creative opportunities to participate in the summer reading challenge at the library!  On this sheet, in the spirit of the summer theme, there is a list of quests you can complete for points including reading prompts, library based challenges, and a list of fun “explorer” quests that will encourage you to go out into the community and connect with the town of Franklin on a whole new level! 

You can do as many or as few of these quests as you choose! Each quest has a different point assignment. The more quests you complete, the more points you will earn! The number of points you earn corresponds to the number of raffle tickets you earn for the end of the summer raffle drawing on August 30th! For example, a Level 2: Rogue Reader (50 points) earns 2 raffle tickets! 

To complete summer reading and earn one raffle ticket, you only need to earn 25 points, but we encourage you to go beyond! Tally up your total points and scan the QR code on the back page to log your points and earn your raffle tickets!

Please fill out the online form only once!

Want to get rewarded right away? 

As you tally up your points from all of the quests, color in the bubbles on your log  to document your progress! At each level, you can show your log to a library staff member to redeem a free book coupon for the library book sale!
