Things to Know
- Payments must be in the office on or before the due dates to avoid additional fees and interest. A postmark is NOT proof of a timely payment so please allow ample time for USPS delivery whether you, mail directly to this office or to our Lockbox using the envelope enclosed with your bills. Other options for payments are online, drop off in the secured white drop-box outside at Town Hall, Drive-through Window or in person at our counter during business hours.
- The mail system is beyond the control of the Town; it is the responsibility of the taxpayer to seek out their bill if they have not received one.
- Motor Vehicle Excise payments are due 30 days from the date of issue. Questions regarding registration and/or potential abatements please contact the Assessor’s office at (508)520-4920. Partial payments are NOT accepted for Motor Vehicle Excise.
- Partial payments are accepted ONLY for Real Estate, Personal Property & Utility accounts.
- The Town of Franklin Real Estate and Personal Property taxes are on a quarterly due date cycle;
- 1st quarter payment is due August 1st *
- 2nd quarter is due November 1st *
- 3rd quarter is due February 1st *
- 4th quarter is due May 1st.*
*If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date would be the next business day.
- Town of Franklin Payment Acceptance Policy: post-dated checks are not accepted; a $25.00 return check fee will be imposed on each individual item; replacement funds on returned checks are accepted in cash, money order or bank check only; a check will not be accepted that can not immediately be presented for payment at our bank.
- Third Party checks are not accepted.
- Accounts that remain delinquent will be assigned to the Town of Franklin's Deputy Tax Collector, Kelley & Ryan. The Deputy Collector can reached at (508)478-1218 or kelleyryan.com
