Captain Underpants Party! Thursday, June 1, 3:30 p.m.

To celebrate the release of the Captain Underpants movie, we’ll be throwing a big bash to celebrate the beloved, super silly book series! We’ll have games, crafts, activities, and snacks!

 

Wordplay: Stories and Crafts for School Age Friends, First Wednesday of the Month, June 7,  1:00 p.m.wordplay

Join us each month for a themed story and activity, specifically for school-age friends! We’ll read one (or more!) stories, and enjoy a related craft, game, or activity! This event will also be held on the second Monday of the Month at 4:00 PM!

 

 

Family Yoga Adventure! Saturday, June 10, 9:30 a.m. AND 10:30 a.m.family yoga adventure

Put on some comfy clothes, grab the whole family and your yoga mats and join us in the program room for a Family Yoga Adventure! We’ll follow along with a fabulous story, doing different moves to keep the story going! We’ll be offering 2 sessions of this yoga adventure, and space is limited, so please call the library to reserve your spot!

 

Baby Sensory! Saturday June 10, 11:00 a.m.

Join us for a 45 minute baby sensory program! Watch your little one interact and engage with a variety of sensory items! Sensory play is a fantastic way to help babies explore their worlds, stimulate the senses, and create little inquisitive explorers! Babies under 18mo are welcome and encouraged! (Got older siblings? They can bring along a stuffed toy or baby and play along!)

 

Mad Hatter Tea Party! Saturday June 10, 1:00 p.m.

Is it your unbirthday?! Ours too!! Let’s celebrate with a topsy, turvy, Mad Hatter Tea Party! Dress in your best (and wear your craziest hats!) and join us for a lovely afternoon! Brought to you by the Teen Advisory Board!!

Lego Club, Second Wednesday of the Month, June 14, 5:00 p.m.lego club

It’s BACK! We’re bringing back Lego Club for our patrons! Each month we’ll feature a different Lego building challenge, and we’ll proudly display our members’ creations in the library until next month!

 

Family Coloring Club, Thursdays, 4:00 p.m.family coloring club

Parents, guardians, and kids of all ages are welcome to drop in and color together, every Thursday from 4-5PM. We’ll have coloring pages and colored pencils and crayons available! Spend a little quality time

 

Book Tote Decorating! Friday June 16, 3:30 p.m.

Get ready for Summer Reading! Joins us and decorate your new favorite book tote, so all your library books will be carried in style this summer! Totes will be provided, please call us in advance so we know how many totes to have ready!!

 

Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival! Wednesday, June 21, 3-5p.m.summer reading carnival

Come join the fun when you pick up your reading logs and book bags! Take home a balloon creation made by Chica the mime! We’ll have face painting, games, snacks, and crafts! Take a chance to win one of our famous book bundles and start your summer reading off right! And back by popular demand: Franklin Public Library’s very own Kissing Booth!!

 

Teddy Bear Picnic! Thursday June 22, 12:00 p.m.

Our beloved annual Teddy Bear Picnic will be held Thursday June 22nd at noon on the Town Common! Bring your favorite teddy (or special stuffed toy) lunch, and a blanket! Enjoy stories, songs, and a bear parade! We’ll also have a special teddy craft! You will also be able to pick up Summer Reading logs and bags at the picnic!

 

 

 

 

Weekly Storytimes

 

Mondays

Move Along for ages 0 – 5 years old at 10:30 AMmove along

This thirty minute program features music, movement, stories, instruments, and other interactive activities to encourage social skills and promote early literacy! Parents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to participate. No registration is required.

Toddler Playgroup at 11:00 AM

Take a break and enjoy some playtime at this informal morning playgroup. The library will provide toys and books for children who are accompanied by an adult. Connect with other parents and let little ones interact with one another. No registration is required.

Tuesdays

Get Ready for Kindergarten for ages 3 – 5 at 10:30 AMget ready for kindergarten

In this fun 45 minute program, the children learn about a new topic every week. They will listen to stories and sing songs related to the theme. They will also play games, do a craft and activities that help develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, preparing them for pre-school and kindergarten. Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay in the room, but it is not required. No registration is necessary.

Terrific Toddlers for ages 18 months to 3 years old at 10:30 AMterrific toddlers

Enjoy thirty minutes of interactive stories, songs, and activities for families and children birth to age 3. No registration is required.

Baby Tummy Time! 9:30 a.m. (For pre-walkers ages 0-18 months)

Babies and caregivers: join us each Thursday morning for Tummy Time! Nurture your baby’s development with gentle music, movement, and sensory play at the library! Please bring a small blanket or towel for your baby’s comfort!

Story and Craft for ages 3, 4, 5, and 6 at 10:30 AMstory and craft

Stories, activities, and a craft for children ages 3, 4, 5, and 6 who are able to attend "on their own." This program lasts around 45 minutes. No registration is required.
