Family STEAM Challenge, Wednesday March 29th, 6:00 p.m.

The Franklin Public Library is excited to introduce Family STEAM Challenges! Every month, we’ll host a different challenge, involving science, technology, engineering, art, or math, for the whole family to participate in! All materials will be provided, so all you have to do is show up with your posse and your thinking caps! This Month’s challenge is… a CUP STACKING CHALLENGE!

Family Yoga Adventure!family yoga

Saturday, April 1st, 9:30 a.m. AND 10:30 a.m.

No Fooling about this! Put on some comfy clothes, grab the whole family and your yoga mats and join us in the program room for a Family Yoga Adventure! We’ll follow along with a fabulous story, doing different moves to keep the story going! We’ll be offering 2 sessions of this yoga adventure, and space is limited, so please call the library to reserve your spot!

Lego Club lego club

Second Wednesday of the Month, April 12th, 5:00 p.m.

It’s BACK! We’re bringing back Lego Club for our patrons! Each month we’ll feature a different Lego building challenge, and we’ll proudly display our members’ creations in the library until next month!

Third Wednesday of the Month, April 19th, 5:00 p.m.

Calling all readers! If you’re reading at a 4th-6th grade level and love talking about books, this book club is for you! Join us on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:00pm for a discussion, craft, and snacks all centered around an age-appropriate book!

Doggie Talesdoggie tales

Third Wednesday of the Month, Wednesday, April 19th, 6:30 p.m.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog! Bring your favorite book or pick out one of ours to read. The dogs and their handlers are from Pawsitive Touch and are trained for one-on-one sessions. For students in grades 2 and up.

Wally the Green Monster Visit!

We’re pleased to welcome back our friend Wally the Green Monster for a storytime and meet and greet! Wear your favorite Red Sox gear and bring your camera and your biggest smile!

Alchemy Laboratory!

Thursday, April 20th, 10:00 a.m.

In this exciting performance that blends science and magic, kids will help perform vanishes, transfigurations, and other amazing feats using everyday objects!

 

Lifesize Board Game!

Thursday, April 20th, 3:30 p.m.

We’re turning the program room into a GIANT board game for the afternoon! Bring the whole family to play our board game, and get comfortable with the Dewey decimal system at the same time!

 

Animal Affair!bunny

Friday, April 21st, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Make some new furry or feathered friends when the Animal Affair Traveling Petting Zoo visits the Franklin Public Library!  Everyone is welcome to pet, brush, feed, hold, and play with the animals! Participants are taught the proper way to hold and handle the animals.  Animal Affair will be bringing ducks, chickens, goats, pigs and rabbits!  No registration is required.

Weekly Storytimes

 

Mondays

Move Along for ages 0 – 5 years old at 10:30 AMmove along

This thirty minute program features music, movement, stories, instruments, and other interactive activities to encourage social skills and promote early literacy. Parents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to participate. No registration is required.

Toddler Playgroup at 11:00 AM

Take a break and enjoy some playtime at this informal morning playgroup. The library will provide toys and books for children who are accompanied by an adult. Connect with other parents and let little ones interact with one another. No registration is required.

Tuesdays

Get Ready for Kindergarten for ages 3 – 5 at 10:30 AMget ready for kindergarten

In this fun 45 minute program, the children learn about a new topic every week. They will listen to stories and sing songs related to the theme. They will also play games, do a craft and activities that help develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, preparing them for pre-school and kindergarten. Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay in the room, but it is not required. No registration is necessary.

Terrific Toddlers for ages 18 months to 3 years old at 10:30 AMterrific toddlers

Enjoy thirty minutes of interactive stories, songs, and activities for families and children from 18 months to age 3. No registration is required.

Story and Craft for ages 3, 4, 5, and 6 at 10:30 AMstory and craft

Stories, activities, and a craft for children ages 3, 4, 5, and 6 who are able to attend "on their own." This program lasts around 45 minutes. No registration is required.
