National Community Survey

Hello neighbors!

Franklin recently conducted The National Community Survey (NCS) in January/February of 2025; randomly selected households received mailed survey invitations and could complete the survey either online or through the mail. The selection of participants was completely random, and individuals’ names will not be shared with anyone.

If you weren't selected for the initial survey effort, a community-wide survey was also available; participants were able to submit the survey online.

Below, you will find the Report of Results, the full data sets* of both the random sample and open participation results, along with slide presentations.

*Disclaimer:  Note: Some demographic data has been removed from these datasets to protect respondent privacy. Responses to certain questions, such as age, race, gender, and other personal characteristics, can become identifying when combined, especially in smaller communities or subgroups. To ensure confidentiality, these fields have been excluded from the publicly shared results.

About Polco and The National Community Survey

The NCS is a comprehensive survey that collects opinion data from residents on a wide array of topics including community life, public safety, local government services, infrastructure, economy and quality of life. The NCS was developed by the National Research Center at Polco, a company that specializes in community engagement and data insights designed to help governments and organizations better understand and respond to the needs of their communities. This is also the survey that is used by the International County Managers Association (aka The MMA of the 50 States) to evaluate quality of life metrics.

Thank you for helping to create a better community for all!
