Mental Health Resources for Veterans
In the case of a mental health emergency, call 911
- Veterans' Crisis Line: Call 988 or 800-273-8255
- MA Help Line: This 24-7 crisis line is for all MA residents. They have a mobile crisis team and follow-up care.
- Home Base: Non-profit providing mental health and wellness services for all Veterans and family members.
- Brockton Vet Center: For Veterans suffering from combat-related PTSD or other trauma and their family members. Call 508-580-2730
- VA Health Care: If already enrolled with VA, contact your VA PCP. If not enrolled with the VA, Fill out a 1010 EZ and take it to the VA Eligibility Office of your choice (with DD214).
- 22 Mohawks: Local non-profit whose mission is the prevention of Veteran suicide. They provide service dogs and other resources for Veterans and family members.
Housing Resources for Veterans
- Franklin Housing Authority: Call 508-528-2220. Veterans and surviving spouses get a Veterans' Preference with submission of DD214. Contact the housing authority for more details.
- CHAMP: Housing authority application for all towns, including Franklin.
- HUD-VASH vouchers: Typically only for housing emergencies. Contact your VA Health Primary Care Team to apply. If not enrolled in VA Health Care, contact our office, or visit the closest VA Eligibility Office in person (West Roxbury, Brockton, or Providence).
- National Call Center for Homeless Veterans 1-877-4AID VET (877-424-3838)
- Emergency Shelters and SSVF (Supportive Services for Veterans and Families):
- Housing Navigator MA: Tech nonprofit dedicated to help people find affordable housing. Contact listings directly.
