Franklin Girls Youth Lacrosse

Franklin Recreation Girl's youth lacrosse is a town-sponsored league designed for girls in grades 1-8. Teams will be divided into four groups by grades, 1st through 2nd (U9), 3rd through 4th (U11), 5th through 6th (U13), and 7th through 8th (U15). Players will receive instruction during practice time and play games against teams from surrounding towns. We will play an 8 game schedule and practice twice a week, typically on Tuesday & Thursday night. Occasionally, we will practice on Friday evening. The league that we play in is referred to as the Founders Girls Lacrosse League. They have recently switched the website to a Sports Engine site. Please be patient while they add more content for the Spring season.

The Spring lacrosse season is right around the corner with practices beginning on Tuesday March 17, 2026. The season will run from March 16 through June 7. Games will be played on Sundays on the following dates: March 29, April 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 31 and June 7.

The League Jamboree is scheduled to take place on Sunday May 17 at Fort Devens.

Rosters:

We have spent a considerable amount of time preparing for this season. We have spent hours reviewing team placement requests, checking schools, date of births, grades, skill level and coaching requests and have held drafts with coaches for each age division. Needless to say, this is a monumental task. We do our best to accommodate all parent requests, but due to an overload of requests in previous seasons, only requests meeting the following requirements were considered.

Youth Sports Requests Policy:

Players will be permitted to request to play with ONE other player. In order for his or her request to be considered, the player being requested must also request to be with said player. Example: John Doe requests to play with Joe Smith, Joe Smith must then also request to play with John Doe in order for the request to be granted. Players will no longer be able to request a particular coach. If a player is requested by a coach they DO NOT get an additional friend request.

Please understand that rosters are now complete and changes will not be made at this time.

Practice/Game Schedules:

Practice schedules are posted on our Lacrosse page of the Recreation Department Website. The practice schedule is subject to change as we will likely have weather cancellations and/or FHS game changes. Coaches will communicate any changes in the schedule through email. All uniforms (if purchased) are fulfilled by our uniform vendor Signature Locker. The game schedules are still in draft review and are not currently available. We will send an email regarding the use of the Sports Engine app once the games are finalized.
