Ways to Support the Library

From teeny babies to our more seasoned citizens, everyone can support the library!  Here are some ways you can show the love.

Visit the Library
Admire the beautiful building, browse the collections, use a computer, sit in a comfy chair and read, or just stop by and say “Hi”!  Your visit means a lot.

Get a Library Card
Even teeny babies can get a library card! It’s the best card you will ever put in your wallet.  Check out items from the collection, use one of our amazing databases (not just for school research anymore!), download or stream ebooks, e-audiobooks, movies & television shows – all for free with your library card.  Your library card use helps us build the best library collection for our community.

Attend a Library Program
The library hosts free programs for all ages, all year round. Did we mention that they are always free? Take a peek at our Events Calendar and choose a program to attend.  We know you want to! Did we mention that they are free….?

Volunteer
There are all kinds of ways to volunteer, from helping us put books away to teaching a class.  If you have specialized knowledge or expertise and you’d like to share it in the form of instructing a class, let us know!

Shop at the Library’s Monthly Book Sale
Usually occurs on the 3rd Friday and Saturday of the month. Books for sale are organized by age group and genre/topic.  It’s only “a buck a book” and on the Saturday afternoon, you can fill a whole shopping bag for $5.00!  And every dollar you spend goes directly to the library.

Donations and Gifts
We couldn’t be more grateful for the generous and supportive community that we serve. It’s with great appreciation that the library accepts donations to the Franklin Library Gift Fund.  Donations to the gift fund go directly to the Library. Memorial gifts in the memory of loved ones that are used to purchase library materials will be given a memorial gift plate. To make a donation or memorial gift, please contact Library Director, Felicia Oti - foti@minlib.netThank you.

Join the Friends of the Franklin Library
The Friends of the Franklin Library are an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization incorporated in 1992, dedicated to supporting and promoting the Franklin Public Library.  The FOFL is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, so your contribution is tax deductible! While these funds don’t go directly to the library, they do provide financial support for a variety of library-run programs, services, and initiatives.

Ask Questions!
Sometimes our busy library staff appears almost too busy to interrupt, but we like you way more than all that paper we’re shuffling around, or the computer we’re glaring at.  Please let us help you find a book, or download an app, or even point you to the closest “potty”.  Save us from all the boring stuff!
