Recycling & Solid Waste

  • Mattress Recycling

Mattresses may not be disposed of as solid waste. They MUST be recycled.

Waste Management will no longer be collecting Mattresses through the curbside program.

There are several options for the residents of Franklin:

-Request that the business from which you purchase your new mattress to remove and recycle your old mattress.

-Purchase a sticker to the Recycling Center (455 Beaver Street, Franklin) and utilize the mattress recycling service at that location. The town does not provide a transportation service, the mattress must be delivered to the Recycling Center by the resident.

-Solicit the services of a 3rd party vendor to remove and recycle your old mattress.

Remember: The Mattress Ban does not include any mattress pad, mattress topper, sleeping bag, pillow, car bed, carriage, basket, dressing table, stroller, playpen, infant carrier, lounge pad, crib bumper, liquid or gaseous filled ticking, including any waterbed and any air mattress that does not contain upholstery material between the ticking and the mattress core, and mattresses in sofa beds.
