VA Pension-Aid and Attendance

Wartime Veterans and Surviving Spouses

Wartime Veterans and their surviving spouses may be eligible for a needs-based benefit known as VA Pension (also Survivor's Pension).  If a Veteran or surviving spouse is financially eligible, this program will supplement their income to bring it up to the Maximum Allowable Pension rate www.va.gov/pension/veterans-pension-rates/

Aid and attendance is an extension of the VA Pension program, for qualifying wartime Veterans and surviving spouses who require a caregiver to help with activities of daily living.  https://www.va.gov/pension/aid-attendance-housebound/

The application process for both of these programs is complex.  For more information, please watch the You Tube Veterans' Call episode, featuring National Service Officers Matthew Ching and Tom Ryan.  If you have further questions, give our office a call at 508-613-1315.
